Care Solicitor

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a full time Care Solicitor to join our specialised Care Team. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a Child Care Department.

About Us

Jackson West is a leading Midlands Law Firm with Offices in Banbury, Rugby & Stratford upon Avon.

The Care Team deal with all aspects of care proceedings, working constructively with Local Authorities, Guardians and bodies such as CAFCASS.

In addition, we deal with commercial and residential conveyancing, wills, trusts and probate and  family law work including divorce, pre and post nuptial agreements, financial disputes upon separation and divorce and disputes regarding children.

Key responsibilities

• Manage caseload of public law cases including PLO matters, Care Proceedings, Emergency Protection Orders, Adoption and Deprivation of Liberty
• Providing legal advice to parents within public law proceedings
• Attendance on clients to take instructions
• Drafting statements of evidence, letters, preparation of file notes, telephone notes and other correspondence.
• Drafting court documents.
• Undertaking legal research
• Preparing cases for Court
• Undertaking advocacy at various hearings throughout the case
• Liaising and working collaboratively with other professionals and experts
• Ensuring compliance
• other office duties as required.

Key experience

• Strong Excel, Work and Outlook skills
• CILEX Or Solicitor with 1-year+ PQE and experience of working within a child care department.
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to keep claim under pressure and work to tight deadlines
• Full driving licence
