Care Proceedings

'Care proceedings' is the legal term used to describe family cases involving a Local Authority which are also known as 'public children' matters. The main focus within these proceedings is the welfare of the child and the Court will always consider what is in the best interests of the child.

We offer legal advice and representation by a team of three expert Law Society Children Panel Solicitors together with our in-house Barrister, who are able to deal with all aspects of care proceedings, working constructively with Local Authorities, Guardians and bodies such as CAFCASS. We are attuned to the sensitive and often emotive nature of such work, and understand things that can happen when your child is taken into care.

We act for parents; children’s guardians; older children requiring separate representation and other family members who need to take part in care proceedings. We can deal with all aspects of your case, from initial advice through to representation at Court hearings. Our work includes Case Conferences, Advocates Meetings and Reviews.

We have a strong reputation for our work in this area and the majority of cases we take on are through personal recommendation. We have acted in cases involving alleged non-accidental injury, neglect, domestic abuse and many other issues.

If you need legal advice please do not hesitate to contact us for free initial advice.
